Anchorage Mayor Suzanne LaFrance, other local leaders, and your neighbors are hosting a ribbon-cutting celebration of the new Alaska Animal-Themed Bike Racks on Saturday, August 1st from 5-7pm in Chanshtnu Muldoon Park.

These unique bike racks were created as part of a larger Placemaking initiative for Northeast Anchorage to develop a sense of place and local identity for Northeast Anchorage while bringing colorful public art to our community. The project was made possible by a 2025 Beyond the Beige grant from the Municipality and Anchorage Community Development Authority, along with generous support from individual donors.

The ribbon-cutting celebration is a free community event open to everyone. Enjoy live music, free food, and a walk through the park to see the new bike racks.
